1. About 144 Academy

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the services provided by 144 Academy, a veteran-owned martial arts academy located at 3406 Easy St, Dallas, TX 75247. We offer Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, striking (Boxing, Kickboxing, MMA), and strength and conditioning programs for adults, kids, and toddlers.

When you provide us with your contact information through our website or in person, you may receive communications from 144 Academy, including SMS/text messages relating to your inquiry for more information about our school and/or to book your trial class. These communications are intended to help you get started on your martial arts journey with us.

 

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using our website, contacting us, or enrolling in our programs, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years of age. Users must be over the age of 18 to consent to receiving SMS communications and to independently enter into agreements with 144 Academy.

If you are enrolling a minor (someone under the age of 18) in our programs, you, as the parent or legal guardian, represent that you have the authority to consent on the minor’s behalf and accept responsibility under these terms.

 

3. SMS and Text Messaging Terms

3.1 Consent to Receive Messages

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in through our website or in person, you expressly consent to receive SMS/text messages from 144 Academy. These messages may include information about our programs, class schedules, membership updates, promotional offers, and communications relating to your inquiry for more information about our school and/or to book your trial class.

3.2 Message Frequency

As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You will receive between 5–50 messages/month. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.

3.3 How to Opt Out (STOP)

You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text “STOP”. After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

3.4 How to Get Help (HELP)

If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance.

3.5 Carrier Liability

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

 

4. Age Requirement

Users must be over the age of 18 to independently use our services, enter into membership agreements, and consent to receiving SMS communications from 144 Academy. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older.

Participation of minors in our programs (Kids Jiu-Jitsu, Toddler Jiu-Jitsu, and related programs) requires the express written consent of a parent or legal guardian, who assumes full responsibility for the minor’s participation.

 

5. Memberships, Programs, and Participation

5.1 Program Enrollment

Enrollment in any 144 Academy program is subject to availability and completion of required intake forms. 144 Academy reserves the right to refuse enrollment or participation to anyone at its sole discretion.

5.2 Health and Fitness

Participation in martial arts training involves physical activity that carries inherent risks. You represent that you are in adequate physical health to participate. You agree to consult with a qualified medical professional before beginning any new fitness program if you have any health concerns.

5.3 Assumption of Risk

By participating in 144 Academy programs, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume the risks associated with martial arts training, including the risk of physical injury. You agree to follow all instructor instructions and safety guidelines at all times.

5.4 Payment and Fees

Membership fees and program rates are as communicated at the time of enrollment. Fees are subject to change with reasonable advance notice. All payments are processed securely through our third-party payment processor.
